The state of Connecticut adopts standards for most all curricula taught in the schools. Recently they have adopted the National Standards created by the Council of Chief States School Officers (CCSSO) for language arts and mathematics. Science and social studies standards are also under revision. Career and Technical Education standards which include standards for family consumer sciences, business, technical education, and computer technology have also been recently released by the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI).
